Manual for flexible operating modes in public transport
The planning manual for flexible transport services provides background information and planning aids for regional and transport planning and helps designing flexible local public transport services.
It is based on an evaluation of existing flexible transport services.
The main components of the manual are two selection screens, which are designed to answer the questions "Is the region considered for flexible operation?" and "Which form of services is suitable for the region?".
Planning aids include traffic planning as well as organizational and economic aspects. In addition, the legal framework conditions are presented, notes on customer-oriented communication are given, and alternatives to flexible operating forms are also presented.
Assessment of profitability
To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of flexible operating forms, checklists and calculation aids as well as excel-based interactive calculation tools are provided.
