UITP Summit 2025: PTV Group and Econolite to Showcase Future-Forward Public Transport Innovations under the Umovity Brand
- Meet the Umovity team at Booth A3252, Hall A3
- On display: Flagship software, agile cloud-based tools and best-in-class hardware
- Focus: Dynamic Multimodal Network Management and Next-Gen Public Transport Solutions
Karlsruhe 11 June 2025. United under the brand Umovity, global mobility leaders PTV Group and Econolite showcase cutting-edge technologies for modern and efficient public transit and resilient transportation systems at the UITP Summit 2025, taking place from June 16 to 18 in Hamburg. At Booth A3252 in Hall A3, the companies will demonstrate how Umovity’s integrated portfolio is shaping the future of multimodal transport—empowering cities to deliver accessible, efficient, and sustainable mobility.
Today’s public transport systems face mounting pressure: passengers demand reliability and accessibility, operators must maintain cost-efficiency, and policymakers are calling for environmentally sustainable solutions. At the Umovity booth, visitors will discover how smart software bridges these needs—enabling better planning, smarter operations, and more attractive transit offerings.
At the heart of Umovity’s showcase are the flagship tools PTV Visum and PTV Vissim, widely used for public transport planning, demand forecasting, and passenger flow simulation. These solutions are now complemented by the recently launched PTV Hub—a cloud-based collaboration platform featuring an intuitive dashboard that allows planners to visualize, analyze, and share results seamlessly, both internally and with the public.
Another key highlight is PTV Lines, a lightweight, web-based tool designed for fast, user-friendly creation and optimization of routes, timetables, and transit connections. Requiring no advanced software skills, PTV Lines empowers planners to make impactful changes with just a few clicks.
Introducing Dynamic Multimodal Network Management
Umovity will also present its transformative concept of Dynamic Multimodal Network Management—a visionary approach that integrates planning, operations, and decision support across all modes of transport.
“We are developing an integrated system for management, operational planning, and decision-making that will allow cities to shape mobility intelligently and sustainably,” said Christian U. Haas, CEO of Umovity. “This holistic approach has the potential to revolutionize how we organize and manage transportation across the board."
Supporting this strategy are advanced solutions from both brands. Econolite’s Centracs® provides flexible ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) management, traffic control, and data sharing in one robust ATMS platform. Complementing this is PTV Optima, which leverages real-time ITS data to deliver predictive traffic management and decision support across the entire transport network—including private vehicles, public transport, and shared mobility. This enables public transport operators to continuously monitor current traffic conditions and anticipate future developments.
Expert Talks and Presentations
On Tuesday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m., the Umovity booth will host a German-language session focusing on infrastructure challenges—a critical issue across Germany due to aging roads and bridges. The discussion will spotlight practical solutions such as Hamburg’s “Congestion Forecasting” tool, powered by the TRIAS software for roadworks management. In addition, LSBG (Hamburg’s State Agency for Roads, Bridges, and Waterways) will present its vision for a new Mobility Operating System (MOS).
Also on June 17, at 4:00 p.m. in Expo Session B, Hall A4, Farnaz Tepper, Product Manager for PTV Lines, will speak in the UITP program’s session “Smarter Network Planning: Leveraging Data and AI for Public Transport Optimization.” She will explore how PTV Lines helps unlock key ridership insights to support smarter, data-driven transit strategies.
