- New features in PTV Visum and PTV Vissim improve collaboration, model accuracy and simulation workflows
- Tech Update outlines Umovity's broader vision of connected, AI-enabled mobility intelligence
- Customers invited to help shape future product developments
Karlsruhe, 27 October 2026. PTV – part of Umovity is presenting the latest innovations across its software portfolio at this years’ Mobility Tech Update. The 2027 releases introduce a range of new features and enhancements to PTV's established solutions, enabling transportation professionals to plan, optimize and communicate their mobility projects more efficiently and with less effort. The 2027 releases build on PTV’s trusted technology and advance Umovity’s broader direction of continuously improving mobility intelligence, while inviting customers to share their perspectives and help shape future innovations.
PTV Visum 2027 features an automated model calibration framework that reduces manual effort and improves model accuracy. Users can define the parameters to be adjusted, set calibration targets based on measured data and select an optimization method to calibrate entire models or specific sections. In addition, PTV Visum 2027 can import measured travel times from KPI corridors configured in PTV Flows. Further enhancements improve public transport access modeling and the representation of on-demand mobility services.
PTV Vissim 27 simplifies the creation of complex road networks with improved tools for merging and diverging lanes and more realistic vehicle behavior. Enhanced OpenDRIVE import and OpenSCENARIO export capabilities improve interoperability with automated driving and virtual testing environments. PTV Viswalk also introduces enhancements to pedestrian routing and the simulation of passenger alighting and waiting behavior.
Another significant improvement in the 27 software versions is the expansion of collaborative modeling capabilities through PTV Hub. Users of PTV Visum, PTV Vissim and PTV Viswalk can work simultaneously on shared transport models, manage revisions and coordinate changes more efficiently.
Other solutions across the PTV portfolio, including PTV Lines, PTV Flows and PTV Optima, also introduce new capabilities to support more efficient, data-driven transportation planning and traffic management.
From trusted models do decision intelligence
“Our customers have trusted PTV’s modeling and simulation technology for decades, and that proven foundation remains central to our future. We’re building on that foundation by bringing our leading technology together with real-time data, intelligent workflows and AI, helping transportation professionals turn analysis into better-informed decision workflows, learn from the results and continuously improve mobility outcomes,” says Nick Ghia, CEO of PTV Group, Umovity’s Software Business.
This approach is part of Umovity's broader vision of Connected Mobility Intelligence, bringing together the complementary technologies and expertise of PTV Group and Econolite to connect mobility planning and traffic operations. The vision builds on three pillars: trusted modeling, simulation and management technologies to understand and plan mobility systems; intelligent, use-case-driven workflows that turn insights into decisions and actions based on real-time infrastructure data; and AI-powered prediction and continuous improvement to help transportation professionals anticipate changing conditions, respond effectively and learn from outcomes.
