Model2Go goes Vissim: PTV Group Launches Automated, Ready-to-Use Microsimulation Models
- Partnership with Dynamic Map Platform
- Data-generated network based on high-precision 3D map data
- Ready to use for traffic engineering and virtual test drives in automotive development
Karlsruhe 26 August 2025. At the ITS World Congress in Atlanta, PTV Group, part of the international brand Umovity, announced the launch of a major innovation: PTV Model2Go for PTV Vissim, bringing automated, ready-to-use microsimulation models to the world’s leading traffic simulation software. Developed in partnership with leading Japanese map data provider Dynamic Map Platform Co., Ltd. (DMP), this new offering significantly accelerates traffic engineering projects and virtual test drives across the automotive sector.
Accurate digital representations of road networks are the essential foundation for any traffic simulation. Creating these networks manually with high-level of accuracy is a time-consuming process. Now, thanks to high-precision 3D map data from DMP, PTV Model2Go automates this step, dramatically reducing project workloads.
Shuichi Yoshimura, CEO & President of DMP, commented. “Since signing the MOU with PTV in January, we’ve worked closely to make our high-precision 3D map data available for traffic simulation, and we are pleased to announce that PTV will serve as our distributor. We are excited about the prospect of our world's largest 3D data set, covering 26 countries and 1.5 million kilometers, being globally utilized in traffic simulation. We believe this will simplify simulation efforts and contribute to smarter city planning and next-generation vehicle development.”
Christian U. Haas, CEO of Umovity, commented. “PTV Vissim is the world’s leading traffic simulation software, enabling data-driven mobility planning across the globe. By integrating DMP’s high-precision 3D map data, we’re now able to apply this powerful tool easier than ever. This breakthrough opens exciting new possibilities for both the automotive sector and traffic engineering.”
The data-generated networks are available ready for simulation in both INPX and OpenDRIVE formats and cover key international markets including the USA, Canada, the European Union, the UK, Japan, and South Korea.
